Root code execution via wlanchnllst buffer overwrite
Published Jan 30, 2025 · Updated Aug 26, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in ChargePoint Home Flex charging stations allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code as root. The wlanchnllst function fails to validate user-supplied data before writing it beyond an allocated buffer, enabling control-flow corruption. Exploitation requires network-adjacent access but neither authentication nor user interaction, and successful exploitation grants root-level code execution.
