Authenticated service interruption via unchecked ZIP expansion
Published Feb 14, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Uncontrolled resource consumption in Apache Superset before 2.1.3 and 3.0.0 through 3.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service. The asset-import path passes uploaded database, dashboard, or dataset archives into get_contents_from_bundle without rejecting entries whose expanded size or compression ratio exceeds safe limits. Any account permitted to import these assets can submit a ZIP bomb that consumes server memory or CPU and makes the application unavailable.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <2.1.3
