Local privilege escalation via uncontrolled DLL search path
Published Jan 29, 2024 · Updated May 29, 2025
DLL search-path hijacking in Trend Micro Security 2023 uiAirSupport 6.0.2092 and earlier allows local users to execute arbitrary code. uiAirSupport resolves a library through an uncontrolled search path, allowing an attacker-controlled proxy DLL to replace the expected library. Exploitation requires local placement of the proxy DLL and user interaction; its code runs in uiAirSupport's context and can escalate privileges.
