CVE-2024-23929

Arbitrary file creation via unvalidated telematics paths

Published Jan 31, 2025 · Updated Jul 1, 2025

Path traversal in Pioneer DMH-WT7600NEX devices allows remote attackers to create arbitrary files through adjacent-network telematics requests. The telematics file operation uses a user-supplied path without validating that it remains within the intended directory. An authenticated session is nominally required but bypassable; arbitrary code execution as root requires chaining this flaw with other vulnerabilities.
