CVE-2024-23916Network attack vector

Remote service crash via unchecked return value

Published Sep 18, 2024 · Updated Sep 18, 2024

NULL pointer dereference in libfluid_msg 0.1.0 allows remote attackers to crash a consuming component through crafted OpenFlow wire data. ActionSet::unpack fails to check a return value before dereferencing the resulting NULL pointer while parsing an OpenFlow message. The library must be embedded in a network-reachable controller or driver that passes attacker-controlled messages to this routine; the documented consequence is service interruption.
