CVE-2024-23901Network attack vector

Unauthenticated Pipeline execution via shared project discovery

Published Jan 24, 2024 · Updated May 30, 2025

Improper project discovery in Jenkins GitLab Branch Source Plugin 684.vea_fa_7c1e2fe3 and earlier allows remote attackers to run crafted Pipelines. GitLabSCMNavigator sends a group-project request without restricting shared results, so an attacker-controlled project shared into the configured owner group is treated as buildable. The attacker must be able to configure and share a GitLab project with that group; Jenkins executes its Pipeline when the next group scan occurs.
