CVE-2024-23809Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary code execution via duplicate stream closure

Published Feb 20, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Double-free in libbiosig 2.5.0 and master commit ab0ee111 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted BrainVision header. In sopen_extended, an ASCII header without [Channel Infos] causes ifclose to free a FILE stream that the parser already closed after reading the header. The attacker must cause a consuming application to parse the malicious file; successful heap corruption grants code execution in that process, while failed attempts can crash it.
