Path traversal in OTRS and OTRS Community Edition allows remote authenticated users to write files outside the application directory. The file upload feature accepts attacker-controlled path components without confining the resolved destination to the intended upload directory. An agent or customer account and user interaction are required; a crafted upload can place harmful files in web-server-accessible directories, enabling local Perl code execution.
