Credential disclosure via plaintext webroot logs
Published Feb 12, 2024 · Updated Mar 28, 2025
Cleartext credential storage in Gambio 4.9.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to read installation secrets from webroot logs. During installation, the error handler writes the administrator password and database credentials in plaintext to legacy-error-handler.log.json and legacy-error-handler.log.txt beneath the webroot. Administrative access to the web UI is required to request these files, exposing credentials without altering data or interrupting service.
