TCC permission reuse via enabled runAsNode fuse
Published Jan 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Permission reuse in Postman 10.22 and earlier for macOS allows local users to run Node.js code with Postman's inherited TCC access. The enabled runAsNode fuse makes the Electron executable honor ELECTRON_RUN_AS_NODE, converting it into a generic Node.js process. Electron disputes the reported remote vector because exploitation requires existing command execution or physical access, and the added effect is reuse of Postman's granted TCC permissions.
