CVE-2024-23731Network attack vector

Arbitrary code execution via unsafe YAML loading

Published Jan 21, 2024 · Updated Jun 4, 2025

Unsafe YAML deserialization in Embedchain before 0.1.57 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through an OpenAPI document. The OpenAPI loader passes document content to yaml.load with yaml.Loader, which permits Python object construction during parsing. Exploitation requires an application to load an attacker-controlled OpenAPI document, and resulting code runs with the hosting process's privileges.
