Unauthorized Wi-Fi access via predictable default PSK
Published Jan 21, 2024 · Updated May 30, 2025
Predictable default WPA2 credentials in Ubee DDW365 XCNDDW365 devices allow remote attackers to gain unauthorized Wi-Fi access. The key generator concatenates the first six SSID characters with the final six BSSID characters, then decrements the last digit. Exploitation requires wireless proximity and observation of a beacon frame, after which the derived default PSK grants network access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
