CVE-2024-23717

Keystroke injection via temporary Bluetooth bonding

Published Mar 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 16, 2024

Improper input validation in Android 12 through 14 allows physically proximate attackers to inject keystrokes over Bluetooth. access_secure_service_from_temp_bond rejects incoming access to an authentication-required service only when a temporary bond is already authenticated, allowing an unauthenticated temporary bond to bypass the intended check. Bluetooth proximity is required, but no prior privileges or user interaction are needed to perform actions with the injected input.
