CVE-2024-23706

Local privilege escalation via empty record types

Published May 7, 2024 · Updated Dec 16, 2025

Improper input validation in Android 14 Health Connect allows local users to escalate privileges through an empty-record-type request. The change-log token path accepted an empty record-type set, causing permission enforcement to receive no record classes and fail to constrain access by health-data type. A local app needs no user interaction; the bypass exposes change logs outside its granted health-data permissions.
