CVE-2024-23639Public exploit

Management action triggering via incomplete loopback checks

Published Feb 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

CORS bypass in Micronaut Framework before 3.8.3 allows remote attackers to trigger enabled management endpoints via localhost requests. CorsFilter treats only the localhost name as local, so numeric loopback hosts accept simple cross-origin browser requests without a preflight. Exposure requires a locally running application with enabled, unsecured management endpoints and a visit to a malicious website; reachable actions can change application state or interrupt service.
