CVE-2024-23637Network attack vector

Administrator lockout via unverified password change

Published Jan 31, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025

Unverified password change in OctoPrint 1.9.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with admin rights to lock out administrators. The access-control password endpoint accepts a replacement password from an administrator session without requiring a recent credentials check. A hijacked admin session is sufficient to reset other administrators' passwords and deny their account access.
