Stored XSS via extension-derived HTML responses
Published Jan 23, 2024 · Updated Nov 13, 2024
Stored XSS in HumanSignal Label Studio before 1.10.1 allows remote attackers to run JavaScript when a user opens an imported HTML file. data_import/uploader.py preserves the URL-derived .html filename, and data_import/api.py assigns text/html from that extension without sandboxing the response. Exploitation requires a Label Studio user to open the crafted upload; script execution inherits the site's origin and can act with that user's privileges.
