CVE-2024-23573Network attack vector

Plaintext recovery via CBC record timing oracle

Published Jul 17, 2026 · Updated Jul 17, 2026

Lucky 13 timing exposure in HCLSoftware Aftermarket EPC 1.0.0 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to recover TLS plaintext. The TLS/DTLS CBC record path exposes padding-dependent timing differences during decryption and MAC verification, creating a plaintext-recovery oracle. Exploitation requires an on-path position, CBC-mode traffic, many crafted records, and statistical timing analysis; the reported impact is limited disclosure of transmitted data.
