Privilege escalation via unauthorized role-field updates

Improper privilege management in Apache Fineract before 1.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to assign themselves any role. The user-update path passed request fields to UserDataValidator without checking field-level authorization, so accounts lacking user-management permissions could submit the roles field. A valid low-privileged account and access to the user-update API are required; successful exploitation grants super-user status and control over user management.
