Subscriber-level plugin-setting modification via unchecked AJAX capability
Published Jun 11, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in ACF Photo Gallery Field 2.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify a plugin option. The apgf_update_donation AJAX handler accepts a subscriber's request without checking the caller's capability and writes the supplied donation response to the apgf_donation WordPress option. Subscriber-level access is required, and the reported impact is limited to changing this plugin setting rather than reading data or disrupting the site.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
