Contributor-level script execution via unescaped widget settings
Published May 2, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Fancy Elementor Flipbox 2.5.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the plugin widget. The widget accepts contributor-controlled settings without sufficient sanitization and renders them without sufficient output escaping, preserving executable script in page content. Contributor-level access is required, and the script runs in a visitor's browser whenever the injected page is viewed.
