Plaintext password storage in BUFFALO WSR-2533 router models allows network-adjacent remote attackers to obtain configured credentials. The affected firmware stores a configured password in plaintext and exposes it through the login page, but BUFFALO has not identified the responsible file or handler. Login-page reachability is required; Internet-based access additionally requires the Internet-side remote-access setting.
