Internet traffic protection bypass via administrative PowerShell commands
Published Aug 6, 2024 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Improper permission preservation in Zscaler Client Connector before 4.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to disable ZIA with PowerShell. Zscaler has not disclosed which permission or PowerShell-accessible locus fails to preserve protection, only that certain administrative commands turn off Internet Access. Administrator rights on an affected Windows endpoint are required, and successful exploitation stops ZIA traffic enforcement on that device.
