CVE-2024-23447Network attack vector

Authenticated document disclosure via incorrect DLS indexing

Published Feb 7, 2024 · Updated Apr 24, 2025

Improper access control in Elastic Network Drive Connector 8.11.0 through 8.12.0 allows remote authenticated users to view denied documents in search. When DLS processes a Windows file with explicit write allowance and read denial, the connector indexes it as searchable despite blocking drive access; Elastic has not identified the responsible function or permission-evaluation error. The exposure requires DLS, that mixed ACL state, and search access, and it discloses document information without changing or deleting the source file.
