Phishing via unrestricted custom URL scheme
Published Jan 26, 2024 · Updated Jun 3, 2025
Improper authorization in Mercari: Buy and Sell App before 5.78.0 allows remote attackers to redirect users to phishing sites. Its custom URL scheme accepts requests from arbitrary applications and opens the supplied URL without restricting access to that handler. Exploitation requires user interaction with an attacker-controlled request; the bounded consequence is navigation through the app to an arbitrary website.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
