CVE-2024-2336Network attack vector

Stored XSS via improperly escaped shortcode URL

Published Apr 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Stored XSS in Code Atlantic Popup Maker 1.18.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through shortcode attributes. The Popup Close shortcode fails to apply URL escaping correctly, so a contributor-controlled URL is stored and emitted into the close control. Contributor access is required to save the crafted shortcode, and the script executes when a visitor opens the affected page and middle-clicks the close button.
