CVE-2024-23339Network attack vector

Object prototype modification via inherited path traversal

Published Jan 22, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025

Prototype pollution in Elijah Harry hoolock 2.0.0 through 2.2.0 allows attackers to alter prototypes via object-path utilities. The get, set, and update functions traverse inherited object-path properties without rejecting prototype-chain segments, enabling reads or writes through an object's prototype. Exploitation requires a consuming application to pass attacker-controlled paths, and the consequence depends on how that application uses polluted properties.
