Cross-site scripting in MediaWiki GlobalBlocking before 1.40.2 allows remote attackers to execute script through a crafted URL. The buildSubtitleLinks method places the uselang-selected parentheses message into subtitle links without neutralizing executable markup. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted link; injected script runs in that user's MediaWiki origin and can read or alter browser-accessible data.
