Published Jan 12, 2024 · Updated Jun 3, 2025
Cross-site scripting in the MediaWiki WatchAnalytics extension before 1.40.2 allows remote attackers to execute script via a crafted page URL. Special:PageStatistics renders the page query parameter into its response without output encoding. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted URL; script runs in the page's browser context and can read or alter accessible page data.
