CVE-2024-2315

BIOS bootkit launch via improper access control

Published Nov 12, 2024 · Updated Nov 21, 2024

Improper access control in AMI Aptio V BKS_5.0 through BKS_5.37 allows local users to modify SPI flash and launch BIOS bootkits. AMI has not disclosed the affected BIOS component or the access-control operation that fails to restrict untrusted input. Low privileges suffice; successful exploitation can persist code in firmware and interrupt system availability.
