Code execution via malformed 3DM or MODEL file
Published Jun 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2025
Out-of-bounds reads in Autodesk AutoCAD products 2022 through 2025 allow attackers to execute code through a malicious 3DM or MODEL file. The opennurbs.dll and atf_api.dll parsers fail to validate file-supplied data before reading beyond an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires a user to open the file or visit attacker-controlled content; successful use can expose process data, crash the application, or run code with the current process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=2022 <2022.1.5
- Affected versionversion=2023 <2023.1.6
- Affected versionversion=2024
