Process memory corruption via invalid STP write
Published Feb 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2025
Memory corruption in ASMDATAX228A.dll in Autodesk AutoCAD-based products 2021 through 2025 allows local users to corrupt memory via a crafted STP file. ASMDATAX228A.dll performs an invalid write while parsing attacker-controlled STP content, producing a write access violation. An end user must choose to import the file; the fault can crash the current process and, when chained with other flaws, execute code in that process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=2021 <2021.1.4
