Stored script execution via unescaped template color
Published Apr 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in WP Google Review Slider before 13.6 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to inject browser scripts. The template editor stores the wprevpro_template_misc_bgcolor1 setting without adequate sanitization or output escaping, allowing an injected event handler to execute when the template is viewed. Exploitation requires administrator-level access and affects multisite installations or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled; opening the injected page triggers the script.
