CVE-2024-2307

Untrusted code installation via shared GPG settings

Published Mar 19, 2024 · Updated Feb 25, 2026

Race condition in OSBuild Composer before 94.0.0 allows local users to disable GPG checks for repositories used in image builds. SourceConfig.RepoConfig stores pointers to reused loop variables, so repositories unintentionally share CheckGPG and CheckRepoGPG values and the insecure value can win. Exploitation requires privileged local control of both a GPG-checked third-party repository and another repository with checking disabled, after which a man-in-the-middle attacker can place untrusted packages in the image.
