Stored XSS via unrestricted profile picture uploads
Published May 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in ParisNeo LoLLMs WebUI allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted profile picture upload. The profile picture handler accepts an uploaded HTML file without validating its content as an image, then serves the stored file so its embedded JavaScript executes when accessed. Exploitation requires a user to access the uploaded file, and a CSRF delivery can cause actions in that user's application context, including access to sensitive information.
