Database backup disclosure via predictable filenames
Published Feb 23, 2024 · Updated Jun 10, 2025
Improper access control in ZKTeco ZKBio WDMS 8.0.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to download database backups. The /files/backup/ handler serves backup files without enforcing authorization, while timestamp-derived YYYYMMDDHHMMSS names make their URLs guessable. Network access to the web server is sufficient; successful requests disclose database contents but do not establish code execution or data modification.
