Authenticated code execution via unsanitized file name
Published Feb 2, 2024 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Command injection in Vinchin Backup & Recovery 7.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary server commands via its API. The deleteUpdateAPK function in /api/app/platform/SystemHandler.class.php concatenates the file_name parameter into rm -rf commands passed to exec without validation or sanitization. A valid web-console session is required; injected commands run with the web server process's privileges and can compromise the backup server.
