CVE-2024-22893Network attack vector

Password-hash disclosure via variable-time comparison

Published Sep 25, 2024 · Updated Sep 26, 2024

Timing side channel in Intevation OpenSlides 4.0.15 allows remote attackers to infer password-hash information through login requests. The authentication service's is-equals operation hashes the supplied password, then compares the result with the stored hash using content-dependent equality. No account or user interaction is required; repeated response-time measurements disclose only password-hash information.
