Unauthenticated command execution via unfiltered company locale
Published Feb 8, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025
OS command injection in Akaunting 3.1.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute commands through a crafted company locale. A company-information update path stores the locale without the filtering enforced by the localization endpoint, and app installation later incorporates that value into a system command. The unauthenticated request executes with the hosting service's privileges; command output requires an out-of-band channel or spawned shell because the response returns only JSON status.
