Remote code execution via unchecked ZIP paths
Published Feb 2, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Path traversal in Kihron ServerRPExposer 1.0.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a server resource pack. loadServerPack resolves each untrusted ZIP entry name beneath the extraction directory and writes it without verifying that the canonical destination remains inside that directory. The victim must connect to a malicious multiplayer server and accept its resource pack; a traversal entry can place a JAR in the mods folder for later execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
