Unauthenticated server crash via malformed exportType
Published Feb 21, 2024 · Updated Nov 6, 2024
Denial of service in actionPandoc in HackMD CodiMD before 2.5.2 allows remote attackers to crash the server via a crafted query. The handler indexes outputFormats with the exportType query value before its try/catch, coercing an attacker-supplied object and raising an uncaught TypeError. A reachable note identifier and the Pandoc export endpoint are required; exploitation exits the process and interrupts service for all users.
