SYSTEM privilege escalation via writable DLL search path
Published May 13, 2024 · Updated Feb 21, 2025
Privilege escalation in Panoramic Corporation Dental Imaging Software 9.1.2.7600 allows local users to execute code as SYSTEM. The CCS Service runs ccsservice.exe as SYSTEM and searches for the absent lnrdlib.dll in C:\ProgramData\Ajat\panoramic\datastor, where all users can write. A low-privileged user can plant the DLL, and a reboot or service restart loads it with SYSTEM privileges.
