Database credential disclosure via hard-coded AES keys
Published Apr 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Information disclosure in AMCS TRUX Waste Management Software before 7.19.0018.26912 allows local users to obtain database credentials. TxUtilities.Database embeds a static AES key and IV that decrypt the database secret stored in TruxUser.cfg and combine it with a fixed password prefix. Exploitation requires read access to the client files and grants direct access to the deployment's privileged ERP database account.
