Authentication bypass in OpenDroneID OSM 3.5.1 allows physically proximate attackers to impersonate drones via crafted wireless packets. The app receives Direct Remote ID Wi-Fi and Bluetooth broadcasts without authenticating their origin, then displays attacker-supplied identity, location, and flight data as genuine. Exploitation requires transmitter access within radio range and allows ghost aircraft to obscure genuine drone signals or conceal a transmitting drone.
