Authenticated arbitrary file upload via missing type validation
Published Feb 6, 2024 · Updated May 8, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in iSpyConnect Agent DVR 5.1.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to write arbitrary files through audio upload. The upload audio component accepts files selected through the “All Files” option without verifying that their type is an allowed sound format. Valid Agent DVR credentials are required; the uploaded file can be chained with a separate file-execution flaw to run attacker-controlled code.
