Browser script execution via reflected search keyword
Published Jan 23, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024
Reflected XSS in beetl-bbs 2.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser through the /index keyword parameter. The /index search response reflects the keyword value into HTML without neutralizing executable script or markup. No authentication is required to craft the request, but a user must open the attacker-controlled URL; the script then runs in that user's browser context and can expose the login cookie.
