CVE-2024-22472Network attack vector

Code execution via oversized S0 frame overflow

Published May 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Buffer overflow in Silicon Labs Z-Wave SDK before 6.85.2 allows remote attackers to crash 500 Series devices via long S0 frames. The 500 Series firmware's S0 frame-processing path copies an oversized received frame without adequately checking the destination buffer's capacity; Silicon Labs has not identified the affected function. Reachability requires delivery of a long S0 frame under high-complexity conditions, and successful memory corruption can also execute code on the device.
