CVE-2024-2244Network attack vector

Unauthenticated batch-job invocation via passwordless REST requests

Published Mar 27, 2024 · Updated Aug 6, 2024

Improper authentication in Hitachi Energy Asset Suite EAM 9.6.3.0 through 9.6.3.12 and 9.6.4.0 allows remote attackers to invoke REST services. The batch-job processing path accepts a valid username with an empty password and treats the request as authenticated, while other credential combinations do not trigger the anomaly. A remote party needs a valid username, but no password or prior session, and can invoke services that process batch jobs; published evidence identifies no broader consequence.
