CVE-2024-22433Network attack vector

System takeover via plaintext LDAP credential exposure

Published Feb 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 19, 2024

Credential exposure in Dell Data Protection Search 19.2.0 through 19.6.3 allows remote attackers to take over the system. The LdapSettings.get_ldap_info path exposes an LDAP password in plaintext rather than keeping the credential confidential. Exploitation requires user interaction but no attacker authentication and grants control of Search and downstream protected devices.
