CVE-2024-22430

Local service interruption via permissive upgrade utilities

Published Feb 1, 2024 · Updated May 7, 2025

Incorrect default permissions in Dell PowerScale OneFS affected releases allow local users to cause an unspecified service interruption. The isi_upgrade_force and isi_upgrade_message utilities have permissions that permit eligible non-root users to invoke them, but Dell does not disclose how invocation interrupts service. Access requires ISI_PRIV_LOGIN_SSH or ISI_PRIV_LOGIN_CONSOLE, and the published material does not distinguish a hang, crash, reboot, or shutdown.
